ditto that mikey. We should all try to be on rifflink as much as possible on those days I guess.

And is it really possible to have ANY club in New Zealand that mentions the "cold"? Isn't it like summer year-round down there?

Um, no.

In winter where I live it can get to about -14C at times, though today (middle of summer) it is 32 outside right now, which is why I am not out working on the car I am building.

We have cold winters here (though not as cold as, say, Alberta Canada) and hot summers, (though not as hot as, say Kuwait) though all this is changing due to global warming.

Best of luck on my behalf to the whole Sonoma Team!!! You deserve it!!!

*sigh* I wish i could go to only 1 NAMM in my life..... well, one day... these are the moments when I'm not proud of living overseas and not having a dime.... :)

Cheers and hope you record some stuff on video!

All the best,

Paul

I wish the Sonoma Crew the very best at the show.

Any one that is fortunate enough to be at NAMM 08, do me a favor and find the Line6 booth and tell them to get their act together with the X3Live. I'd also be curious to know if they demo the new Gearbox and Workbench software for the X3/X3L.

Yup, that's why I've steered away from the x3 for now. I'll give it another six months for line6 to finish developing the product (that they've already released) and THEN give it a shot. I heard such terrible things about L6 when I started getting back into music this time around regarding their "support" (or lack thereof). The Pod xtlive has worked well, but I consider myself lucky. But then again, waiting a bit after a product comes out is ALWAYS a good idea. I mean, I likely won't wait for the new Rifflink if it requires new software, but on things like xboxes and wiis and versions of windows, well, it pays to hold off for at least a little while to make sure they have time to get the bugs out..

Dave. Ya learn something new every day. I've always thought Australia and New Zealand had year long summers with just pinches of winter. I also thought that things were backwards down there (winter is hot and summer is cold). And is it also a myth that the funnel in the bathtub drain spins the opposite direction as they do up here? I've always heard that too.

Oz has a way different climate than New Zealand, depending on where in OZ you are, but it is generally warmer all year round (they have deserts in the middle). In the North and SouthWest of New Zealand they tend to have a lot of rainfall, by that I mean it might rain every day just a little bit. The far north tends to be more tropical and the west coast of the south island more 'rainforesty' but these are generalisations. We just have usual winters and summers like everyone else. The endless sunshine thing is probably the marketing boys trying to get more people from the USA to holiday here (which you should anyway; the biggest danger is you would love it and want to move here).

We are in a weird gravitational warp here which means the water goes straight down the drain without turning at all which really mucks up our plumbing. We have to use special pipes and drains with swirl generators (developed in New Zealand) built in. Scientists from all over have tried to explain it but have no theories.

Nah, just having you on. Water drains just like everywhere else. I think Mythbusters even busted that one. I don't know who started it originally but it certainly had me trying it out when I first went overseas across the equator.

Have a great day.

When I was a kid growing up in UK and we went on holiday to the seaside my dad always said if I dug a deep enough hole in the sand I'd finish up in Australia. Well I finished up in Florida, was my dad wrong or did I have a faulty spade or what ?????

What about Jack Jobbers, Funnel Web Spiders, box jellyfish, great whites, etc, etc, etc. Over here we have like, the occasional bullshark and bear attack. That's about it..... Whenever I see a show about "ten most deadly" whatever, there's always like 5 or 6 of them from down there.

But by the same token, the ads DO look really sweet! I'd love to see ayres rock up close and personal. I live near the SECOND largest piece of exposed granite, Stone Mountain, GA. It's not nearly as big as ayres, and instead of pretty red sand all around it, it's got walmarts, chinese restaurants, and the projects....

Hey Beau, associating Dave and his Kiwi chums with Australia is like linking you US types with Brazil - or even worse ... Canada!
I think the worst thing that can happen to you in NZ is to be trampled by sheep or thrown off a very high bridge with just a bit of elastic round your ankles!
Cheers!

Or you might be stuck with a pair of wellies that are only wide enough to get your own legs in

And you've gotta catch the laser show at least once. At the end when Elvis is singing Dixie, General Lee rides out from the face of the mountain, breaks his sword and throws it on the ground, brings me to tears every time. I thought Sig and I were the only Riff Junkies in Georgia. Whereabouts do you live beauzeau? I'm about an hour north of the ATL in the foothills.
