RWKontrol updated to 2.0.9 Beta 27-Jul-2009

Whats New in Version 2.0.9

JoyPad/Stick Support : you can now use your usb joypad/joystick to control riffworks. (only buttons and pov/hat supported as yet, axis not supported)

Some Code overhauling : RWKontrol now seems to be better at sending commands to riffworks gui.

Works with Line6 podxt Live : (midi filtering added for podxt midi input so that it can be used to control riffworks.)

To use with podxt you have to configure line 6 driver to send clean signal.
When using with midi the pod will only serve as a di interface, and you will have to load a plugin such as podfarm ,amplitube or whatever in RW to process the signal.)
Setup the pod A,B,C,D to play , stop, record .. etc
the amp and stopmp, fx buttons need to be pressed twice to toggle the value

*************** END OF UPDATE NEWS ***********************************

Folks, just finished the New Version. (had to as almost broke guitars neck as well as mine while reaching for the mouse yesterday)

Version updated to 2.0.4 Beta 02-Oct-2008

Download from My intelliriffer WIP Site : INTELLIRIFFER WIP & DOWNLOADS

Image

Ok Here is the info.

You can use your midi controller or computer keyboard function keys or both to control/trigger following commands: (you can even use game joysticks/pads but i will elaborate on that if anyone asks for that)

1: Play Riff F1
2: Stop Riff F2
3: Record Riff F3
4: Create New Riff F4
5: Duplicate Riff (Dupe riff) F5
6: Arm F6
7:Set Tempo F7
8:Single Shot Rec F8
9:Auto Mute Layers F9
10: instant Drummer Toggle (on/off) F10
11: Metronome Toggle )on/off) F11
12: Rexplayer Toggle (on/off) F12

Features of New Version:
Entire Rewrite.
1. You can send RW kontrol to System tray and it will still monitor midi and functions.
2. You can toggle Keyboard monitoring On and Off.
3. RW can even run minimized.
4: I have Programmed it for both the Resolutions/widths that RW Currently supports

5: Tested under winxp Pro SP2 , 1024x768,1280x960,1280x1024 resolutions.

6: When the Keyboard monitoring is on the Keyboard function keys (f1-f12) are filtered and not sent to windows/other programs.

7: If your firewall/antivirus prompts you it is monitoring keyboard input, allow that as that is how it will handle keyboard shortcuts.

8: It does not Alter or do anything special to RW.

9: If for some reason the keyboard events buttons stop working, just restart it.

How to setup midi controller?: eg midi keyboard but can be anything.

1: Select your midi input port (midi in port, the port of your midi device)
2: Right click any button to configure it : a box with message waiting for midi input will show up. hit a key or control on your midi keyboard, and the message will change. click ok and the button is configured and automatically saved.

enjoy.

~Amit

Note : I do not guarantee that this program will work on your system. but I do surely hope it should. Do post in this thread if it works for you or not.

Amit,

If you need any server space I have room on one of my servers. I could host it for a while if you are having issues.

Let me know.

The Version has been Updated to 2.0.1 Beta. Please Download and Reinstall.

There were few bugs from debug version that made the record and some buttons not work, that has been fixed.

Wow, cool! Now I just need a midi foot controller and I'm rockin out. This way I can create a vocal booth and control RiffWorks away from the computer right? That would be uber cool :D

Any suggestions on a basic, cheap midi foot controller?

Thanks :)
Rich

Rich,
Here is a comparison table for some nice foot controllers.
http://g-force.info/midiboard_comparison.htm

I don't use any hardware foot controller. i either use my korg microkontrol pads or for foot control, i use my el Cheapo footcontroller (a cheap usb joypad/gamepad).

Can't get any cheaper than this :D

hey atalwar

I notice that you don't support Vista. I have the ability to test on vista 64bit, and vista 32bit home premium and ultimate editions... would this be any help to you for supporting Vista?
Cheers,
Rowbi

Hi Rowbi,

I thought i did enabled vista and future MS os'es when compiling the installer for both RWKontrol and intelliriffer.

I cannot confirm it works in vista, as i do not use vista anymore.

It uses some low level api calls and functions so it may or may not work in vista depending on user rights and security.

If you can install and test on vista, then do post here so we can let everybody know.

i will check again if vista was enabled in installer or not

I've tried it on 2 Vista Ultimate 32bit machines (both with SP1) and they both came up with the following error:

Run-time error '380':
Invalid property value

oh, and I'm a local admin on both machines, and UAC is turned off, so all applications should have the ability to run with full control.

if there's anything else I can do to test it let me know
Cheers,

RW Kontrol Updated to Version 2.0.4 Beta [vista compatible)

RW Kontrol has been updated with some fixes. Now you can use it with just computer keyboard too.

The Update addresses the issue of Run time error that occured on starting which was due to no midi input devices detected. It has been fixed.

Cheers.
