Entering the battle is as easy as 1-2-3:

Use the Reason Electric Bass ReFill, or the Electric Bass demo ReFill available for download here, to create a killer bassline. For competition purposes, your funky masterpiece must conform to the following guidelines:
It must consist of Bass, Drums and Percussion only
It must be based on the Reason Electric Bass ReFill (full or demo version)
It can not use third party ReFills or self-contain samples
It must be 8 bars long

When you are done, upload your bassline as a Reason .rns song file. You can upload up to three separate basslines. You have until November 24 to upload.
When submission time is over, it's time for the Reason user community to rate the basslines. The top 10 basslines will proceed to a final round. In the final round, the top 10 submissions will be rated by our superstar artist panel consisting of Mocean Worker, Arabian Prince, Chaka Blackmon, DJ Babu and Mix Master Mike. The winners will be announced on December 19th.

Rules & Conditions
Participation
To enter the bassline battle, you need to be a registered owner of Reason version 4 (since the Electric Bass ReFill only works with the latest version of Reason). By entering, you are giving Propellerhead Software the rights to freely publish your submitted music as an mp3 music file on our website for rating and for download, along with your name for identification.

The submitted material must be your own composition.

Rating process
After the submission period closes on November 24th 2008, the public voting starts. The propellerhead user community is invited to rate the submitted material. The submissions with the highest rating when the voting ends on December 5th 2008 will participate in the final round. The final round rating is done by the grand jury consisting of Mocean Worker, Arabian Prince, Chaka Blackmon, DJ Babu and Mix Master Mike and the winners will be published on December 19th 2008.

Winning
The submission with the highest rating in the final round will win the Grand Prize, provided by Propellerhead Software, Focusrite, KRK and Novation. The prize will be shipped on sender's expense but the winner will be responsible for any applicable prize and/or import taxes in his/her country.

$1000 CASH AWARDED EVERY MONTH
In addition to $1000 cash, Stereofame offers the unique opportunity to get objective, written music reviews by serious fans of music. Watch our screencast that shows how the music review system works.

All artists that enter Round 1 of the contest are judged by Stereofame members that are presented with a music review form to complete. Following the model that expert reviewers use everyday in the industry, members will be required to listen to an entire track before submitting a critique and will grade the song on a predetermined set of attributes. Each review will display a score once it has been submitted based on the marks given for each attribute. The top 10 scoring artists will be forwarded to our expert Judges Panel where the winner will be selected.

Contest finalists will be reviewed by an impressive group of judges from a variety of backgrounds in the music industry. Judges will critique the finalists using the same review process used in Round 1 and the artist with the highest score wins.

The Stereofame Artist of the Month contest submissions are judged on the basis of:

Music
Creativity
Originality
Melody
Lyrics (where applicable)
Musicianship
Arrangement
Production
Marketability
Lead Vocal (where applicable)

In addition to the cash prize, winners will benefit from promotional campaigns that will give international exposure and attention to the winning artist.

The winning artist from each month will also qualify for the Stereofame Artist of the Year contest with a prize package of $5000 and exposure to a larger judges panel.

How to enter:

Beginning October 1, Artists will be able to enter up to 3 songs to the contest. Go to the Upload section of your profile page and click the "edit" link next to the songs you would like to submit to this contest. Artists are encouraged to enter 3 songs to maximize the total number of points attainable. All musical genres are welcome to enter!

Contest:
Artists enter songs and listeners vote for their favorites. A panelist of judges will determine the winner from the 10 artists receiving the most listener votes. The winner will receive $1000.00. A listener selected in a random drawing by the Sponsor will receive 10,000 points. All federal, state and local laws and regulations apply. Void where prohibited, taxed or regulated.

Eligibility:
The Stereofame Artist of the Month ("Contest") is open to all registered members of Sponsor or are vocalists or musicians or members of a musical group ("Artists") of legal age registered with Sponsor.
The following are NOT eligible to enter the Contest:

Owners, employees or agents of vendors providing products and/or services for or in connection with the Contest, including prizes; and
Members, managers, employees or agents of Sponsor or any of its affiliates.
The following may participate in the Contest, but are NOT eligilbe to win:

Members of Sponsor that have previously won the Stereofame Artist of the Month Contest within the given year are not eligible to win the Stereofame Artist of the Month Contest for any other month in the same year.
Members of Sponsor that have previously won the Music Reviewer of the Month for the Stereofame Artist of the Month Contest within the given year are not eligible to win the Music Reviewer of the Month for the Stereofame Artist of the Month Contest for any other month in the same year.
Sponsor reserves the right to verify eligibility qualifications and to disqualify any registrant found to be in violation of the Official Rules.

How to Enter:
Artists: To submit songs or compositions ("Songs"), go to the "upload" area of your profile on the Sponsor's website and mark not more than three (3) of your uploaded Songs as "eligible" for the Contest. You may mark as "eligible" both currently uploaded and newly uploaded Songs. Songs with lyrics which are obscene, profane or not in good taste in the sole discretion of Sponsor will not be eligible to win. By marking a song as "eligible" for the Contest, Artists are attesting that they are the rightful owners of the Song and that the Song does not infringe on any third party's copyrighted material, trademark or other intellectual property and may be performed and broadcast without obtaining permission from or making any payment to any third party, and agree to provide the Sponsor with an autographed CD at no cost to the Sponsor.
Artists must submit their Songs by 11:59 p.m., Florida time, on October 31, 2008.
Listeners: To vote for a Song, go to the Sponsor's website, click on "Artist of the Month" Contest and listen to the submitted Songs, then vote – using a music review form - for the Song. Listeners can vote once each day for any one or more Songs from 12:01 a.m., Florida time, on November 1, 2008, through 11:59 p.m., Florida time, on November 21, 2008 ("Voting Period").
General: Sponsor will not verify receipt of submissions. Automated or mechanically reproduced submissions are prohibited and, if used, will be disqualified. Sponsor is not responsible for lost, late, illegible, misdirected submissions or transmissions or problems of any kind, whether mechanical, human or electronic. Submissions are the property of Sponsor and will not be acknowledged or returned.
By participating, each Artist and Voter (i) agrees to be bound by these Official Rules, (ii) consents to Sponsor's use of his/her/their name for promotional purposes in any media, without additional compensation unless prohibited by law, and (iii) agrees that, if selected a winner, will be solely responsible for any and all tax liabilities or consequences of accepting and receiving a prize.

Artist's Prize: $1,000 Cash (Approximate Retail Value: $1,000)
Reviewer's Prize: 10,000 Points

Awarding of Prizes:
Reviewer: The winning Reviewer will be determined in a random drawing by the Sponsor on December 1, 2008 from those eligible. Odds of winning depend on number of eligible entries received. Sponsor's decisions are final.
Artist: The ten (10) Artists receiving the most votes during the Voting Period will be submitted to the Judges panel who will select the winner, on or about December 1, 2008, based upon the originality of the music, quality of songwriting and lyrics, and listenability.
General: No substitution, cash alternative or transfer of prize is permitted. Sponsor reserves right to substitute a prize with a prize of equal or greater value. If winner is a minor, prize will be awarded in the name of the parent or legal guardian.
The winning Artist and Voter will be notified on or about December 1, 2008 by e-mail to their "Stereofame" profile, and will be sent an Affidavit of Eligibility and Liability/Publicity Release. Potential winners must complete the Eligibility Affidavit and return it, and the signed Liability/Publicity Release, to Sponsor within ten (10) business days or an alternate will be selected. If potential winner cannot be contacted within three (3) calendar days (during normal working hours) from first attempt, an alternate winner will be selected.

Sponsor's Rights:
Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion and without responsibility or liability to: (i) make all decisions concerning eligibility, which decisions shall be final and binding; (ii) disqualify anyone whom Sponsor determines has been responsible for any tampering with the promotion process or is ineligible or otherwise in violation of the Official Rules; and (iii) suspend, cancel or modify the promotion at any time in the event of any circumstances which may prevent the promotion from proceeding as planned or which may adversely affect the administration, security, fairness or integrity of the promotion, including without limitation the process by which a winner is selected.

Limitation of Liability:
By participating in the promotion, Voters and Artists ("Participants") agree that Sponsor, its affiliates, or their respective members, managers, shareholders, directors, officers, employees, agents and other authorized representatives are not responsible or liable for: (i) misaddressed, lost, late, ineligible, incomplete or illegible promotion documents; (ii) any injuries, losses, damages, taxes or expenses of any kind incurred as a result of Participants' participating in the promotion or Participants' winning, accepting, taking possession of, or in any manner using or misusing a prize; (iii) any printing or typographical error in any materials associated with the promotion, or human or technical error, which may occur in processing entries submitted in connection therewith; or (iv) any theft or destruction of, or unauthorized access to, or use or alteration of, any of the Participants' Information submitted hereunder. By participating in the contest, Participants agree to fully and forever release and hold harmless Sponsor, its affiliates, and their respective members, managers, shareholders, directors, officers, employees, agents and other authorized representatives, from any and all losses, damages, rights, claims, actions, or expenses (including attorneys' fees and costs) of any kind whatsoever, in connection with the Promotion or resulting from Participants' participation therein, and, if a winner, any personal injury, death, and/or property damage.
Any and all disputes, claims and causes of action arising out of or connected with this promotion, or any prizes awarded, shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action, and exclusively by arbitration. Any and all claims, judgments and awards shall be limited to actual out-of-pocket costs incurred, including costs associated with entering this promotion, but in no event attorney's fees. Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to cancel or suspend part or all of this promotion should virus, bugs, non-authorized human intervention or other causes beyond the control of sponsor corrupt or impair the administration, security, fairness or proper play of the promotion. In such event, Sponsor may award prizes in a random drawing from all eligible entries received up to the date of cancellation or suspension. This is Fall Fever time in Nashville. Everybody has heard of Spring Fever. It is supposed to be a lazy, laid-back time. But Fall Fever in Nashville is totally different. It is a time to get up and go! For recording artists, it is time to get up and go for new songs to record. For songwriters, it is time to get up and go write some new songs to satisfy the artists who are looking hard for songs to record NOW.

Important: Here is the MAJOR difference in this competition and all others: We actually PITCH great songs to music-business professionals. Some contests list judges like presidents of major record companies and recording artists who have sold millions of records. Do you really believe such important people are going to spend hours and days of their time listening to and reading thousands of entries to any contest? We seriously doubt it. But at Paramount, we have judges who are highly trained in picking songs with potential. And when they find them, they bring them to the attention of our people whose job is to pitch songs regularly to artists, producers and A&R execs.

Here is how the Paramount Nashville International competition works: Any writer who has never had a song recorded by a major label may enter up to four songs or lyrics each month through October 31. We have made the entry fee especially low: Only $20 per song or lyric; just enough to cover administrative costs.
