I meant to ask you what your OS was before in my other post.
Well, sounds like you are leaning in the right direction, sometimes some builds have new encounters with a series of things that may couse conflicts. I know I had a 'good' time of it when I first seriously used RW... as a platform, especially in Rifflink - its far more stable now than last year but as with anything, development and additional improvements is like two steps forward, one step back sometimes. Hang in there,....it'll work out.

My system is a dual boot OS with Windows XP Professional with SP3 and Vista Home Premium 64 bit.

I had an email Sonoma tech support to check the board as new suggestions had been posted, and also to try sliding the toneport monitor on the GP ASIO settings up 1 notch.

I've tried all the posted suggestions as well as moving the tone port monitor up a notch.
Actually, I've pretty much tried the tone port monitoring setting at every available option.

RW crashes, unplug GP, wait a few seconds, plug back in, start up RW, set tone port monitoring in GP ASIO settings up 1 notch, try to record drum loop, RW exception/crash, unplug GP etc... repeat process until all hair is ripped out.

So I've tried every setting. The log file for RW says the latency on the GP is horrendous. I tried disabling the Audigy 2 soundcard and completely removing any driver and registry entry reference to it, just using the GP as the soundcard and it made little difference as RWT4 still crashes from trying to record a drum loop with instant drummer.
Another odd thing is RW log file reports the GP latency as horrid like I posted in an above post, but Cubase LE4 reports the input latency of the GP as under 15ms and output under 29ms.

Again, open to any further suggestions from anyone or tech support before I just give up.
Thanks.

Are you plugging Guitarport in direct to USB or through a hub ??? RW doesn't like hubs and my Line6 Toneport UX2 doesn't like to be competing with my multi card reader gizmo, just a thought :)
No-one remembers what you do or say. Everyone remembers how you made them feel. Allegedly !!!!

Well, I've had similar troubles when first using RW as I've said. Since we're in 4th and go scenario punting with 10 seconds left..

hmm, maybe try ASIO4ALL and see if it improves you times or interactivity over the L6 drivers and GP ASIO. Can't hurt.

I use a hub with no problems but I had to install my ux2 through a direct usb port before I could use the line 6 interface through the hub.

Thanks Dug. I appreciate that. If I can get this software to run without crashing when recording instant drummer, I'll definitely buy the full version. It's so damn easy to use over everything else.
Thanks again for the suggestions. I'll also try vista 64 and the asios4all suggestion and report back.
And I'm plugging the GP directly into my USB with the USB cable it came with.
Thanks

I'm having the exact same problem as the original poster. I get the exception error and the audio screams until I unplug the Line6 GX.

WHere are the buffer settings for the GX? Or am I misunderstanding?

Hi Dug, was there ever a fix for this? I'm having the exact same problem running with RiffWorks 2.5.0.3009 using a L6 GP on XPsp2. I own the full version and have upgraded to the latest but still experience the problem. I even tried it on a Mac and and have the same problems. I can send you the crash dumps from my dead sessions as well if it'll help debug the situation.

Thanks,
