I just have a question/complaint. I was a little sore when I bought riffworks, was not happy with certain aspects of the product, but nonetheless used the guitarport for the tones it comes with. V2 so far touches base with alot of the problems I had with the first. I just bought it a month prior to the Feb. 1 deadline for the free upgrade. Don't you think you guys should at least take the release date and give customers within a year of purchase the free upgrade? I like the program but will not spend 100 bucks on it again...

Thanks.

tylerloader,

I'm sorry that you're not happy with our product, but we can't really change that policy. Picking a deadline for free upgrades is always going to be a controversial topic as there has to be some deadline. We feel the Feb 1st is a fair date since any new customers at that point would already know about V2.

And as far as the price, I think we announced it would be $30 for the upgrade, which is significantly cheaper than a Line 6 model pack. Most companies charge much more for their upgrades, but we really want all of you to be using the new features...

I haven't heard a single person complain about the upgrade price - in fact, when it was announced we all thought Sonoma had shot themselves in the foot. Most folk said that they would have been happy to have paid a little more.

RiffWorks Standard (version 2) will certainly be worth the wait and the cost - honest!!
Cheers!

And that's why wise people keep their traps shut instead of putting awful ideas into Sonoma's people's head.

Well as I always say, you can't please everyone...

But lots of us have been using many different software for recording and by far this is the best and dumb proof.

Hell yeah, but we can't found a religion and convert the unbelievers.

dave,

Thanks for the response. I'm sorry I mis-interpreted the cost. I thought it would be $100.00 for the upgrade software. $30.00 is definately reasonable as compared to other rival software companies for their upgrade prices. Thanks for the clear-up. I will definately be upgrading when it comes out. :)

P.S.- Mozzarello, I really do not need to hear you tell me to shut my mouth. I am not putting any ideas into Sonoma's heads. Some people on here I think take products they buy a little too seriously and think it is like a religion or something. If you question it at all, you're wrong! Just calm down and mellow out a little man. :)

And that's why I kept my trap shut... ;-) one thing is understanding something wrong, other thing is coming up and attacking without having any background information.

Dude, do not take it the wrong way, but don't you think that showing up assuming and blaming everyone due to your frustration is not a nice thing to do?

Of course I have no power whatsoever on Sonoma's decisions, and no one does, we may suggest positive things, contribute with ideas, but I really dislike when people do not get informed correctly before posting. That happens on every and each newsgroup and it's part of Netiquette, and yes, I assume I don't have any patience when I see the "Troll factor" (I'm not calling you a Troll!! by all means) when people come, and post without reading or knowing the basic rules for posting on a forum.

If dan weren't such a nice person/moderator/administrator he would've just said:

"There's a button called search, please use it because it's not a garnishment"

And trust me, lots of forums have really "short fuse" moderators (I am one of them on two forums and I tried to be "funny", instead of disgusting on answering), and it's not their fault, it's the user's fault that doesn't take the appropriate time to read and get well informed.

If you need my apology for being sarcastic, trying to be "funny" or telling what to do, I really do apologize from the heart, since I've been posting recently over here and I have no rights to be disgusting, but do please understand what Netiquette is and what the major rules of a forum are.

If you think that some people "take products they buy a little too seriously and think it is like a religion", you're not looking at the big picture, I'm just standing for the PEOPLE (yep, software/axes/music is made by people) who has been working their asses off in order to give us "PEOPLE" a great product.

I just have left to say that I'm really sorry for being nasty, but do please do not start shooting mean words before asking yourself: "There's a human being on the other side of the screen who's reading this". And we all hope that you upgrade and have lots of interesting questions as well giving us tips to share and of course, poting your tunes on Riffcaster to show your ideas.

All the best, a warm welcome, and I hope hearing from you on giving us tips, asking questions that might help others and submitting your songs for listening them to.

Well thanks for the apology, but I definately didn't shoot mean words. I just said to calm down and mellow out. Then put a smile at the end of my paragraph. No biggie I definately didn't lose any sleep over your comment. I just blame myself for posting a question to Sonoma Wireworks on a public forum, knowing that there would be plenty of diehard fans that would bash me. I absolutely love Sonoma Wirework's products. It just dissapointed me a little when I found out they were gonna charge $100.00 for just the upgrade after I just purchased it(which was wrong information.) Thanks for the warm welcome.
