Hi,
I´ve been running the line6 rifftracker gold bundle with riffworks without any problems up to now. All of a sudden today, when I wanted to export a riff, I was informed about the following:
RiffWorksLine6Edition does not support Acidized Wave file Export. Update to RiffWorks Standart to get wave file export and other cool features. Would you like to learn more now?..
If I check this I `ll be asked to update and pay some 29 or 69 bucks.
I don`t want that, I`ve been able to export rwr for the last two years.
Can some one help me?

In the meantime I reinstalled a former version of Riffworks and it worked again!!
After that I installed the new revision UpdateRiffWorksLine6EditionV2_2_3009 and it refused saving rwr`s again
Now I know definitely that the new update provided on 20th of december is responsible for that.

Sonoma, why do you do that?

I think this a not so gentle nduge to get you to crossgrade to riffworks standard. I got the same thing you did, but I was going to cross-grade anyway. I did, and the problem went away. i'm sure you're also getting the lttle messages about the 32 bit wav file support you only get with RW standard. like I said, I was going to switch anyway, so I'll fight the establishment elsewhere....

Oh no! If that is true then it is a bug and we apologize about that. It was not intentional for us to break exporting .rwr-files in RiffWorks Line 6 Edition. We will look into it after the holidays and the engineers are back from the holidays. Until then, yes crossgrading from RiffWorks Line 6 Edition to RiffWorks Standard for $29 will fix the bug and add many more features for you to enjoy:

While RiffWorks Line 6 Edition is a great deal for Line 6 customers, some find that they want RiffWorks Standard because:

* RiffWorks Standard is not keyed to Line 6 hardware, and it works with ASIO and Core Audio devices, so you can use it with devices from Line 6, M-Audio, IK, etc. Recommended Devices
* RiffWorks Standard can Export Riffs to .wav
* RiffWorks Standard supports 32-bit Recording and 32-bit Mix
* RiffWorks Standard supports plugin amp models
* RiffWorks Standard includes the Sonoma 7 VST Plugin to use in other DAWs (coming soon)
* RiffWorks Standard Download from Sonoma Wire Works and RiffWorks Standard CDs include AmpliTube 2 Live guitar amp and effects plug-in (value $99)
* RiffWorks Standard includes one extra free InstantDrummer session, "RAW Funk Grooves"

I can confirm this issue after my upgrade to riffworks latest version (not being able to export riffs)....... I also noticed the option for 32 bit wave files is not available and we (line6 edition users) are only able to use 16 bit. I could be wrong but weren't we able to do 24 bit instead of 16 bit before? if so, now we are forced to use a lower quality then we had paid for and forced to upgrade. Again, I am not sure but I THOUGHT I was recording and mixing my tracks in 24 bit quality prior to the upgrade..... ???????

@tmotech: Even though you were able to select 24-bit for your audio driver, RiffWorks was always recording audio and bouncing mixes at 16-bit. Now, with the new 32-bit feature, if you use 24-bit with your driver, you will not be converted to 16-bit when recording.

If you do use 16-bit recording, 32-bit mixes are still a step up from the old 16-bit mixes.

@fentzentierchen: Sorry about that. We're discussing what to do about it. But, if there isn't anything that you need in the new update, you can rollback to the old version to get export back. The new version for Line 6 users really just supports some new Line 6 devices. So if you don't have any new Line 6 devices that you need to use, you're not getting a whole lot out of the new version.

RiffWorks Standard 2.5 is where the real update happened, adding a lot of new features. Of course we'd love to have you crossgrade to RiffWorks Standard, but we don't want you to do it angrily.

Hello Everybody,
I`ve been away for some days.
First of all: I`m kinda happy that I`m not only chasing ghosts but some of you do share my problem and the admins care about it. Thank you for that.
@ Hayden: just let me know your finding, how you guys plan to fix this, or is it really a smooth hint...?

Happy new year and Regards to you all, and stay cool!

Hello all!
Noob here to RW, I had installed gearbox, ( came with my TonePort UX2 ) and have gotten the Line6 edition of RW. Seems to be working flawlessly, but I'm so new I havent even learned how to use it properly yet, just recording some loops and seeing how it sounds and works on my system.. then I bought some Instant drummer tracks, installed them and found a messege asking me to update to v2.2.3009, I downloaded it, then before installing came here to see how to install, and if I needed to install both RW and instant drummer.. ( still havent found an answer..just install with both checked and it will overwrite what it needs? or do I need to uninstall RW first? ) Anyway.. I stumbled onto this thread and am wondering now.. should I wait for some kind of resolution before updating??? I MAY consider a crossgrade.. but my UX2 is pretty much going to be my device of choice for awhile so.... if theres no severe problems to worry about, then I am thinking I shouldnt update till an announcement is made concerning the WAV situation? 32 Bit would be nice though....LOL..... Hayden, should Iwait on the update? Like I said.. I have all the amp models I need, a ton of drum tracks.. but the WAV thing would be cool.. otherwise I still need to convert?? Still trying to decide if 32 bit is worth the 29 bucks right now.. ( I cant even figure out how to do a full song and mix tracks!! LOL )

Thanks for the patience in advance!!! Play Hard!!

Where did this issue land? Administrator Hayden says I shouldn't have to crossgrade from the Line6 version, but I am am having the same problem that was mentioned here two years ago. My version (2.2.2) will not export riffs. I get the same "does not support acidized wave files" message and a link to learn more. Then when I get to the Riffworks Features page it shows that the Line6 version can save as a .rwr file. Follow the link on how to do that, and you land back the "does not support..." message. What is the deal? I can't roll back to an older version. I have the Line6 X3Live and the rollback advice is from two years ago. Please help, administrator.

Please contact support directly about this so this doesn't get lost in the shuffle in the forums.
