man I wish there was a fast way to mix layers in one riff, some of my riffs have many layers in them, and I'm starting to get lost...really sucks!

You can use the 'MixtoRiff' function.
Pull the riff(s) you want to consolidate in to the SongLine then hit the 'Mix' button, then choose, 'MixtoRiff'. It will mix everything down in to one layer in one riff.
Cheers!

I think your saying you have too many layers in one riff. You can do one of two things here. (1. Name each layer in your riff to tell them apart. or (2. you can allow the riffs you want to play in that riff, then mute the rest. Then drag that riff up to the song layer and "mix to riff" as one riff. Rename that riff to what ever you want. Do that for the rest of them as you see fit.

Is this what your looking for?

yeah, not really sure what your specific problem is. But make sure you rename each layer. Also, I always start by setting the drum levels, then I dupe that riff multiple times. Every time you dupe it the levels will be set, as will be any EQ and effects you have set. I also try and mix as I record; at least as a first shot, and I tweak the mix as I construct the song. That way there will be less to do in the final mix stage.
