Riffworks & Alesis Multimix8 USB

My Alesis mixer works great with every recording app. I have except RW. When I play guitar through it into RW, I get this crappy fuzzing sound. Is there anything I can do about this ? Thanx

I know people have had mixed results using Alesis gear with RiffWorks. Can you tell us exactly which model you're using and if you have the latest drivers that are available from Alesis's website? We also need to know what buffer size you have the mixer set to.

Thanks Randy. I'm using a Alesis Multimix8 USB. A rep from Alesis has told me : "The Multimix does not use a specific Alesis driver but just the USB audio codec built into the computer using an ASIO driver". The one I'm using is asio4all which works fine in RW. I set the buffer size (in asio4all) to 512, though I've tried it at 1024 & 2048 w/ negligible improvement. Is there anything I can do to get it working right ?

I've found an acceptable workaround. I have a Behringer UCA-202 interface device that I wire between my mixer & PC instead of using the USB out from the mixer (still using asio4all in RW). It works great, I can record and playback with no glitches , but I'd still like to get the mixer directly compatible w/ RW if possible.
