I have a pretty large song in the works (160 MB/8 minutes) and all of a sudden I cannot open the file with my PodXT Live running, the hardware cannot be connected or else the file will crash and either get "dbghelp.dll not found" or I get the visual runtime error. This makes it impossible to finish. I can open it without the hardware running and it will be stable, but theres no use for that. The program/hardware work fine with the other song files which are nearly the same size. Does this mean the song file is corrupt and i have to re record everything in a new file or is there something I can do to fix it?

EDIT: If I start my podXT AFTER I open the song file I get the Mini-dump "dbghelp.dll not found" message and "D:...RewireDLL.cpp (994): Verify Failure" right after.
If I open the file with my hardware connected I get the C++ Visual Runtime error. Maybe this will help diagnose the problem.

Can you open other files? Have you tried the USB un/replug trick?

the USB trick = just shut down Riffworks and unplug the USB and wait 5-10 seconds to re-set the ASIO drivers.....not sure if it will help in this case though as it sounds like a corrupted songfile.

Well the usb trick didnt work, so I'm guessing the song file is corrupted. Although the fact that it says "dbghelp.dll cannot be found" is interesting, because I looked in the Riffworks directory and that file IS in there. Re-installing Riffworks had no effect as well. I have no idea what else to do except rerecord it, but any other help would be great.

Also, the problem started when I mixed the song into a .wav. The program crashed, and after restarting it the file wouldn't work.

Just to clarify....you're not trying to import the WAV file right. Just have to be sure.

I'll forward you an e-mail "fix" from back in the day, that might help you find the corrupted file and at least you will be able to use 90% plus of the song...........hope I can find it.

Can you export all the .wavs (if you don't have your hw plugged in) ? If you could maybe you could re-import them into a new project using IntelliRiffer. Another probably less desirable way is to export each riff as a .rwr, I think you would have less control over your song, but that might work too.

Exporting as a .rwr file is actually more desirable(he would still have complete control of all layers) and would be the easiest fix but he probably has a corrupted file , so it wouldn't load properly..............the "fix" I e-mailed him will help him sort out the corrupted riff itself. Now hopefully it works...:)

Have you opened up a report with support on this. There might be something very easy they can do for you and it might be worth waiting to get their response before re-recording a load of stuff. File the reports, chill out and play something else for a day or two.

I would try and reinstall RW first and see if that fixes it. The dbghelp.dll is a help file assosiated with windows debugging process. You may need to get a copy of that file as well and place it in your C:WindowsSystem32 directory. May be helpful and give you more insight on whats really going on.

What version of windows are you running?
How much RAM do you have?
How much free HD space?
