I currently use RW T4 edition which came with my Line6 GX, which doesn't support the rewire function.

I'm thinking of upgrading to the standard version, but need to know if the rewire function that comes with standard allows me to import each layer of a riff/song from RW into Ableton, so that they can be manipulated separately there, MIDI added and so on.

By the way, I'm using the Ableton Live which came with the Line6 GX.

Cheers ears!

RW standard can export the wave files from a Riff/ or from all riffs and those can be imported into ableton (via clip browser), however that is not via rewire though.

The wav files exported are dry so you'll need to use the sonoma 7 vst (free with standard i think) to re-apply the fx(best way is to save them as presets and then load them in sonoma 7 vst as desired)

Rewire does help a bit in arranging the song/riffs back in ableton.

Thanks Atalwar, I've already tried to import riffs and drums seperately as wav files, but they sound weird, kind of 'warbly'. I was hoping to import the riffs/layers/songs directly and without the strange added warble.

the wav files might be sounding warbly because ableton may be automatically warping (time stretch) them to it's native tempo.
I think You can disable that in its preferences or you can go to each imported file and remove the warp there.

Does Intelliriffer allow me to export wavs from RW into Ableton?

Ok, simpler question.

If i have a song in RW, made up of all my different layers, how can I get it into ableton in a way which i can still manipulate all those layers seperately, i.e. effects, pans etc.? I've tried dragging the WAV. of the song in, but it just goes into one track, and nothing can be separated. Is there a way to do this?

Thanks mysmolet, I hope you get better soo, but HOW do I 'export the riff as wave and split the riff from riffworks and save it where you want'?
