Is it possible to have access to a "server base" version of Riffworks if one wants to try and setup his own Rifflink server?

A change would have to be made to the client though, you would have to have a drop down table where you can provide an IP to link to that server as well amongst other technical changes.

I'm in now way a programmer, but is this something that might be doable in the near future?

Hi Muddhole,

The RiffLink server was designed to run on unix and communicate to the RiffWorld server. It isn't out of the question, but it's definitely not something we are working on. Once the new back end for RiffWorld is finished, we will be able to focus on fixing RiffLink bugs without the distraction of RiffWorld being slow to respond which causes timeouts in the RiffLink server, which is part of the problems with RiffLink.

cheers,
