1. Is there a way to fix the delay when you're using amplitude?
2. When i record something, should i do the entire song with hardware then add effects later?
3. What are re-wire and rex player for?

-Thanks :)

1. yes. you need to change your ASIO driver settings to run at a better latency.
2. that is your choice, but in my opinion, you only need to use delay after the fact.
3. rewire is the "industry standard" for connecting different Digital Audio Workstations (DAWs for short) together.
.rex is a widely recognized sliced loop file, meaning you can change the tempo easily of the recording, based off of triggering sections of the audio to the tempo.
I personally think .rex files are gross, because the only program that can make them is incredibly overpriced.

depends on what you are using. generally, the "audio setup" button in riffworks will bring them up.

what exactly needs to happen in there to fix the delay?

you wanna change the latency. the lower the latency, the better. 512 samples is an OK starting place, and will give you 12 miliseconds delay. I use 128 personally (which gives you 3 miliseconds delay), but most people's audio hardware cannot handle this.

What you are referring to is actually called latency...you can adjust it by changinf the buffer setting is n your ASIO audio driver settings. What kind of interface do you have? We need to know that before anything else.

A general rule of thumb is to apply effects after you record, but I like delay and chorus on my guitar signal pre tracking....that is just me though.

Rewire is a communication method for RWS to sync with a compatible device/program like Reason.

Rewire is a loop player based on the REX format. Search these boards and you will find all kinds of free REX files you can import into the your recordings.

The ASIO device im using is called a Lexican Omega, it has 4 mono channels + 2 mic and 2 midi. It easily alows me to control the input of my guitar and he output to the head phones volumes. It connects to the computer by USB. With an optional +48V which it looks like i have turned on, I'm running this type of setup

I have no idea where or how you would adjust the buffer setting using that........sorry......hopefully somebody else here will be able to assist. But if you are going to use Amplitube, or any amps sim for that matter, you would not need or want that amp in the chain.......I would think.
