RiffWorks Line 6 Edition is no longer being updated, so it is recommended that all RiffWorks Line 6 Edition users upgrade to RiffWorks Standard v2.5.

The only difference between the RiffWorks Standard Download sold on Sonomawireworks.com and the RiffWorks Standard Download sold on Line6.com is that Sonomawireworks.com bundles the IK Multimedia AmpliTube 2 Live VST Effects Plug-in, and Line 6 does not, as that is their competitors' product. Pod Farm, GearBox, and any other installed VST Plug-ins supported by RiffWorks works great with RiffWorks Standard.

RiffWorks Version 1 owners receive $70 off, making RiffWorks $59.
RiffWorks Line 6 Edition Version 2 owners receive $100 off, making RiffWorks $29.

How to upgrade/crossgrade to RiffWorks Standard (with the AmpliTube 2 Live bundle) from Sonomawireworks.com:

Pricing and availability can be changed without notice, but we don't foresee changing it in the immediate future.

Thanks,
Michelle

Now that I've cross-graded to Riffworks Standard, I have both the Line 6 version and Standard loaded on my computer. Is there any reason to keep the Line 6 version? Seems like it would just be taking up space.

I sometimes use 'em side by side so I can quickly export an end riff, do a fade out mix and import back into the song I'm working on.

That's a great idea! Right now I process fades by mixing to wav and then doing the fade process on Cubase. Are you processing the fades in Riffworks by dragging the line of the sine wave? I've done it that way but you sure need a steady hand. On the other hand, doing it through Cubase is a pain which is why I love Riffworks so much.

I did not realize you could have 2 version of Riffworks open at the same time, I figured that would lock the ASIO driver. But I guess if you have 2 different devices connected that would work?

Yeah, drawing as straight a line as I can, depending on how much beer or JD disappeared beforehand :P

Another route is Mix to high quality ogg or 32 bit wave, open in Audacity (P.S. Free... assuming you haven't already got it) and do a fade that way. The dual RW way seems to flow better because you haven't committed everything to final mix that way and you can keep drawing ever straighter or wonky-er lines to your hearts content

Have fun mate ;)

Yeah, hold that thought mate, I musta been talking a load of old bollocks again. I can't get both versions to run together on Vista, I'm sure I did on XP though. No worries, just export your riff, save your song (RWS), click New, import your riff, mix to riff etc, then re-open your song and import your riff etc.

I musta polished off too much JD already today :P

No worries Bill I was just curious. I know I cannot have Riffworks and Live open at the same time, well not both as masters anyways. Anything I do in RWS I export as 32 bit wavs to Ableton.

So is SWW dissolving their relationship with Line 6? That would be a shame if so. I was introduced to RW when I bought my Line 6 "GuitarPort RiffTracker".
