For lack of a better place to post this - here it is.

I just feel like chiming in here to request other drummers for my tastes, more fussion, and straight ahead jazz, alternative, progressive and world drums are styles I would find conducive to developing the music I love to compose.

And since SWW is trying to put together a store/library of possible future purchases.
I would love to have numerous drummers at my disposal to piece together Miles/Zappaesque/Crimson stuff. So here's my 2 cents.

To all who read this don't get the wrong idea, I'm all for SWW getting you guys as many metal style drummers you have money enough to buy. I'm into all musicians doing all MUSIC - period. No musical/political posturing here. Just trying to make sure there's a notice for a need for other stuff too.

here's my list: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_jazz_fusion_artists#C

Double Bass Mania from Beta Monkey has the metal thing covered. From old school to speed metal, I have used it for over two years. Write to them all the time asking for the part II. Highly recommended.

I own Double Bass Mania and it is awesome. But I still enjoy the freedom and flexibility of the Instant Drummer and would definately appreciate an out and out metal-double-kick-blast-beat Instant Drummer and I know there are a number of others out there who feel the same.

Bring it on!

Cheers,
Al

There are several new InstantDrummers with double kick in them from DiscreteDrums and Submersible's Matt Sorum - Metal Head is also chock full of double kick stuff. There are definitely more on the way too.

I agree, Metal Head has some sweet loops.

That's also great news that more of this kind of content is in the pipline - thanks Dug.

Beta Monkey just released Double Bass Mania II - just awesome. Covers everything right up to blasts. I got it yesterday, plugged it into Sonar and seriously cannot keep up with a lot of the loops. It's psycho in places.

They still have the special price up at Double Bass Mania II

I just haven't used it in Riffworks because the REX version isn't out yet. But, they promised me a copy of the rex one when it is out (have to say, that is cool in of itself). But, highly recommended for metal no question no matter the format!

I'd love to have some instantdrummers that cover death metal and black metal.
Some bands that have the drumming style I am looking for: Emperor, Enslaved, Opeth. Fast double kicks with nice fills, blastbeats, fast drum rolls etc... and please not just boring double bass drumming with the same pattern over and over, some variety and complex patterns would be really great. Something that can add the final touch of intensity and feeling, because the Heavycore Too that I am using at the moment is not really the optimal choice of drums, although it's the best I have found so far.
