Kick ass, downloading now!!!!!

Maybe this is a sign of more god things to come for those waiting the Line 6 version of RW as well.

Here is hoping the Monkey will properly detect RW standard now..........

I've been beta-testing the Mac version for the past month and it's pretty rock solid with both the GuitarPort and UX1.

So Mac-friends, if you've got a GuitarPort gathering dust in a drawer/cupboard somewhere now's the perfect time to get it back in action:

GearBox 2.0 + RiffWorks 2.0 + Mac = Genius

Enjoy

Now I am not sure if it is just me, cause I am getting older and years of standing next to a wall of cabinets has taken it's toll.............but to me Gearbox sounds better than the GP software.

I completely uninstalled the GP stuff, since the GB installer is bundled with the monkey and new drivers and such. So on a fresh install using the presets I can notice a cleaner crisper sound overall. Not to mention I think the GB interface is a little more simplified and all round easier to use showing the effects chain the way it does.

Anyone else have it installed.......man between my new guitar arriving, a new version of RW, and the free GB thing this has been a good couple of weeks!!!!

Shred a few months back they upgraded the PODxt to a version 3 and it seemed to have the same effect. I haven't been following the Line6 stuff much but I think the GearBox / TonePort /POD are all using the same models now?

I believe so, cause when you install GB it asks what drivers you want to install and it lists GP, TP, POD......evertything. So they are definitely going on a unified platform for the software, which only makes sense.

You hear promises all the time of the improvements, but never actually see/hear the difference. To me it is obvious this was a definite improvement.

I would be curios to hear back from more of you guys using Line 6 hardware if/when you make the upgrade.

Made the Upgrade this morning but didn't have time to check it out like I wanted too. I will this evening. I did like the effects rack and the ability to go to the Tone Library but thats about all I saw. I actually was thinking of switching back to my GP. But since I realized some new tones require the PreAmp and the ability to get the Bass Expansion pack I'm gonna stick with The Tone Port UX2. I wish though they would give you the option to get all the model and effects packs that the Pod XT Pro has. They still aren't doing that yet.

Shred it was all good, except...I was in the middle of a song and had to redo it because the patches no longer were the same. Not a biggie but word to the wise if anybody's looking to go back and mess with a current song!
