These is a questions that Sonoma can probably only answer...It there a new version of Riffworks coming out in the near or distant future? If, so what can we expect to see for new features and improvements? The reason I'm asking this is because I like the other Riffworks users enjoy using Riffworks (the most used piece of software on my PC by the way!) is that I have evaluated Reasons Record program and am very impressed with it. Of course it costs more than Riffworks around $250 dollars, it is very powerful. It does however take a bit more time to learn to use and isn't as intuitive as Riffworks. Is Sonoma working on some upgrades for this wonderfully easy to use recording software? Any kind of time line for the next release?

To the best of my understanding the devs are all dilligently working on a complete new back end for Riffworld and Rifflink and its implementation is imminent. No doubt, once that is done they will be working on improvements for Riffworks itself. Priority-wise I can fully understand this as once they get Rifflink right they start generating revenue from it to fund further enhancements in all areas :)

And pay for their supper :P

Good and fair question it seems. I tried Reason record too. Works pretty nicely but a little clunky. Have you looked at this site before? Any body?

I see they have a live collab thing there similar to RW and thought.. Hey 2 is better than one! why not use em both (i have too much invested in RW to quit using it)? I was looking for feedback on the site but no-one has responded. I hear lots of nice songs there too.

?

I don't plan on quitting using Riffworks by any means because it is just to fun to use! Rewire works with Reasons Record too, so it would open up new possibilities. I may spring for it in the not to long future.

I never heard of digitalmuscian.net but will check it out!

I think the hottest fires that SWW needs to put out is the on-again, off-again functioning of riffworld.com, and the dismal performance of Rifflink. THEN and only then should improvements be made. Best to fix the gaping hole in the wall before investing in a new air conditioner, don't you think? :)

I can't give many details (mostly because nothing is set in stone), but we are certainly planning on continuing to develop RiffWorks by fixing bugs, adding new features, etc. That's really about all I can say right now. As it has been stated earlier, our resources are tied up in fixing/updating the RiffWorld.com servers and updating our iPod app, FourTrack.

Cheers,
Randy

So how many employees does Sonoma have? How many web developers, software engineers, marketing specialists, etc? How bad has the economy affected Sonoma? I'm just trying to get the big picture because I know Sonoma is plagued with problems and maybe if you were more forthcoming than we/I could be more understanding and less frustrated, and a bit more tolerant. I want to see Riffworld succeed as much as you owners/developers but I fear doom in your future without the right support.

This is just my opinion, but is based on my general knowledge of industry. If you don't constantly improve you product than you are likely to fall behind and then ultimately fail. I know there are some other internet sites that offer online collaboration so you do have competition out there. You do have a loyal membership from what I can see and Riffworld has grown so you are doing something correct, but if you take to long then the odds will start to stack against you. You will need a better mouse trap so to say. I am a patient person by nature so I tolerate more frustration than a lot of people, therefore I will stick around for some time, but not everyone will be as patient as I am.

Riffworks can be looked at as a Recording tool and as a collaboration tool. I guess Somona's focus is on Collaboration. and sharing music. So while one is being worked on then the other suffers. It seems to me in order to stay on top you will need to double your efforts. Again just my opinion, as I am not a psychic.

It's very stressful when I think smoking these cigarettes is killing me so I think I'll smoke another one as it's very stressful when I think about how stressful it is that these cigarettes are killing me

When I've done that I think I'll go to my favourite restaurant where the food is absolute crap and I'll have a few words with them about the food quality again

Last time I got out of jail I went and committed an offence in front of a policeman so they could lock me up again because I hated it in there

Cheers,

Perhaps updating Riffworks before FourTrack would be a better idea????
