hey guys,
i bought riffworks and today i linked my VST files of POD FARM and Gearbox into the programm. anytime when i use them within the program is have huge latency problems which makes recording impossible. i set the buffer size as small as possible and still got a latency of 15.8503 ms.. is this normal?
adding to that if i use my plugins ( for amp - like podfarm, amplitube etc.) i hear a loud noise through my speakers and there seems to be a some kind of signal transferred as the light turn green and yellow although i dont play at all?! any ideas ??

Sorry to hear you are having problems - no it's not the first time this has happened but its also definitely not the norm either.
What are you using for an ASIO? I am laying odds on its all in the ASIO and your settings. Try using ASIO4ALL.

http://www.asio4all.com

Make sure monkey and all your drivers are correct and up to date and this should take care of it.

Do you have a Line 6 device? If you do then use the stand alone Pod Farm instead of the VST file. When you do that you get 0 latency.

hey guys.. as i said i got an POD x3 which cannot be used as a stand alone (at least it was not possible in the past!).
i also think it is a problem with the ASIO drivers! i once installed the ASIO 4 ALL driver but deinstalled them because they had nearly the same effect as the properly installed and up-to-date line SIX pox x3 drivers...
what is ur latency? it really sucks that i cannot use the VST files with such an expensive device and program ):
do you have any ideas left??
is it maybe possible to control the asio drivers somewhere else except in the riffworks programm itself? i dont know what to do ):

Hey Lilalaune,

Try getting gearbox from line 6. It will let your control your tones in the same way as pod farm does. Just run the standalone and voila! No latency

hey evan thanks for your help... i got gearbox and when i run it together with riffworks in hardware mode it works pretty well! the latency occurs only when i use amplitube or podfarm as VST within riffworks.. ofc. gearbox as standalone + riffworks would be my workaround its just that i am kind of disappointed as i paid for podfarm and amplitube and cannot use them now.. if you got any idea to make them run smoothly please tell me but big thanks for your answers so far!

You might wanna try going to the audio settings in the bottom right corner of the RiffWorks window. There you can play with the buffer size. The smaller the buffer size is, the less latency you will have. The side effect is that your CPU will be working much harder.

Oh yeah I misread your post. I have the same problem but I don't use pod farm or amplitude so I never really had to deal with this.

-_-; thanks anyway guess riffworks is the only possibility for a workaround but my problem doesnt rely on the vst itself i guess no VST works for me with riffworks. when i press the "EFFECTS" button and get rid of the HARDWARE light even the recording with 15 ms is very quiet and with a lot of background noises.. really annoying..

Try using Gearbox and/or Podfarm as standalone's (not thru the monitor/hardware panel).....open Riffworks, then open Gearbox or Podfarm separately.....check the audio setup button to make sure your Pod X3 is there. You should be getting the sound of Gearbox into Riffworks now......
You don't need to use the VST version of Podfarm/Gearbox when you can use it as a stand alone and get virtually zero latency. :)

Sorry you are having trouble. Not sure why you paid for Podfarm VST though. It is free for all PodX3 owners. PodX3 just has to be powered on to liscense it. I would return it if it is within 30 days.

It is too bad Podfarm is not the editor for the PodX3. But the sounds are the same as Gearbox.
