I have just installed the latest version of Riffworks (version 2) on my computer (in combination with Line6Toneport UX2). Before that I used Riffworks Version 1 though my POD XT Live, but I transferred the license key successfully. The new Riffworks version works well, but I can’t install the add-on instant-drummer sessions from the Sonoma website.

Ok, to be able to use the Sonoma Instant drummers all Line6 users first have to execute the file “RiffWorks Line 6 Edition - RiffWorks Registered Windows” from the Sonoma website. But when I do this an error message appears:

“It doesn’t appear that you have installed Riffworks Line 6 Edition. You must install Riffworks Line 6 Edition first.”

Well, that isn’t correct, because I installed this version and I can open (and can use) the application (and yes, I restarted my computer for several times), but still I get this error message.

Besides that, my counters have decreased:

- Riffworks Line6 Edition – Riffworks Registered Windows : 2 left
- Riffworks Line6 Edition – Bare Bone: 4 left
- Roomy Metal Band: 3 left
- Maat Sorum Metal: 3 left

Can anyone tell why it doesn’t work. What happens when the counter of “Riffworks Line6 Edition – Riffworks Registered Windows” diplays “0 left”? Does that mean I can’t use any new Instant-drummers anymore?

It looks like a bug in this new release.

If your download counters expire, we can add downloads back to your account. Don't worry about that. If it happens, file a case with support and we will adjust it for you.

I responded to another of your threads about the Line 6 Register application, but I'll quick repeat here. Where did you install RiffWorks Line 6 Edition?

We have a work around if you have installed RiffWorks Line6 Edition in a directory other than the default:

1. Temporarily copy the RiffWorks binary, RiffWorksLine6Edition.exe, to C:Program FilesSonoma Wire WorksRiffWorks Line 6 Edition"
2. Run the registration application.
3. Copy the binary back to the desired RiffWorks directory.

That is the location where it is, but I also get that same message. I'm running RW 2.01, tho'.

I still get the message - “It doesn’t appear that you have installed Riffworks Line 6 Edition. You must install Riffworks Line 6 Edition first."

If I put the original binary back then the register program runs, but RW Line 6 Edition won't load.

Posted again because this thread is shorter.

TerryR,

You did get the 2.01 patch to run on your Athlon, right? It is possible that the updater is looking for a specific product version and your's is too new. Keep your original binary around (even though it doesn't work) and we'll officially patch the RW Line 6 Edition updater with the bug fix for you guys. You just caught us on a tough day...

Yes, everything is working now!!

The solution you gave me was not very clear, but after some time I got it fixed. This is what I did:

1. Quit Riffworks

2. Copy the RiffWorksLine6Edition.exe from the original location (where you installed Riffworks) to "C:Program FilesSonoma Wire WorksRiffworks Line 6 Edition". If this directory doesn't exist you have to create it (temporally).

3. Run the registration application. This application checks the RiffWorksLine6Edition.exe file on your C-drive (and not on the drive you installed Riffworks).

4. Now copy the RiffWorksLine6Edition.exe back from "C:Program FilesSonoma Wire WorksRiffworks Line 6 Edition" to the location where Riffworks is installed originally (in my case on my D-drive).

5. Download the Instantdrummers and put the in the /resources/drummers folder of the original Riffworks installation.

2.01 patch is installed. Register gives above message. - “It doesn’t appear that you have installed Riffworks Line 6 Edition. You must install Riffworks Line 6 Edition first." I swapped the original binary back. Register ran with out any error messages, but I was back to the original problem. V2.01 is now swapped back awaiting further instructions.

Am I the only one running RW Line 6 Edition on an old Athlon? I still can't get that Register program to install on my V2.01 RW.

I really don't NEED any new drummers, but that box telling to download the two free drummers, and then my browser loading and taking me to the Sonoma store EVERY time I start RiffWorks L6E is really getting annoying.

But I do appreciate the help getting RW L6E to run on my rickety old computer.
