This is a GREAT DEAL (see link below)!! If any of you don't yet have the plug-in for Line 6's Gearbox and ever plan to record outside of Riffworks then I would jump all over the chance to get this at an unreal discount.

I'm not affiliated in any way with Line 6. Just hoping to help someone out :) I have the plug-in myself and I love it :D

The problem is they don't ship to NZ by the looks. If anyone there can take a paypal payment from me, buy it and then ship me the item (at my expense of course) then please let me know.

Dave.

Wow, that is a great price. They really reduced.
Hey Dave, which package are you interested in? I bought another silver and was planning on returning it. If you'd like I'd just ship it to you for what I paiid which was 99.00 (plus the cost of shipping of course)

I've done over 500 total transactions on eBay and completely trustworthy unless your somebodies daughter.

All model packs from Line 6 appear to be half off as well, at least for the Toneport.

Anyone know why a tone port is better than guitar port? I see 2 analogs out is basic diff I find ..

I wouldn't mind having the gold package just to get the bass models

Toneports(UX1andUX2) have line inputs for outboard gear, xlr inputs, and guitar/bass inputs plus dual tone processing. UX2 has phantom power for condesor and other mics, spdif out, and independent volume and analog output knobs plus hardware meters that are assignable.

The bass pack should be half off for 50 bucks.

GuitarPort does a fine job for a bit..........but then if ya need a little more ....Toneport is the way to go....I upgraded 2 years ago to Toneport from my beloved GuitarPort because I do vox and needed phantom power and such.......... ask any one whose upgraded.....if they would ever go back to Guitarport and I'm sure you'll get a resounding ....NO friggin way!
I noticed a big tonal difference in my recordings since the change.

This is silly money for us in the UK, I wonder if they'll ship internationally? I'll be on the phone later today....

It's been a roller coaster this promo... I've seen it at Guitarcenter for 149 bucks (Gold bundle) + tax, and well, I fell for it, must confess.. having all amps and FX it's quite more amusing than the already owned Guitarport + Gearbox standalone.

Now, as Charvelguy said above, they (guitarcenter as reference) dropped to 99.95... welll, it was for a while only (I guess, then they went up to 499.99 (and a lolly-pop + 2 Picks of destiny :rolover: ), today is again at 149.99 + tax = 161 bucks, still a sweet deal to have a new "dongle" + all model packs (that's why I chose it)

Anyway, I've got just one question if someone can help me out.

As I understood, the Gearbox Plugin comes with a TonePort quite similar as a Guitarport (meaning no XLR plugs/inputs) but I dunno if it's a Toneport DI (as they say at online stores) or a Toneport GX (Tinier than a DI; and all outputs are 3/4")

Now, leaving inputs & outputs aside, is a Toneport an ASIO USB soundcard with less latency than Guitarport? or is it exactly the same?

For instance, Amplitube doesn't work quite well with Guitarport ASIO (43 latency approx) but with an M-Audio it works fine and dandy (11-13 latency)

Micky: for instance, you've got (or still have/ don't have anymore) Gport, now you got the UX, do you see any latency difference between both Dongles?

Btw, it was hard to me to get what was a "dongle", besides it's a funny word to say out loud, it reminds me a "70's Porn Actor Last Name".

E.g. Shaving Ryan's Privates - Featuring "John Dongle"

well, it's already in my country, hence, I guess it's xmas toy-time this weekend!

Cheers!
