hey,
i own Slicex, which was suppost to be able to make Rex files. it seems the feature was removed after they went out of beta. now i have a bleep TON of drumloops i have made myself that i would absoloutly love to share with you guys, but i wanna make em in a format usable by you. currently i only have wav files.
i dont really feel like buying propellerhead products, as i dont like the company's morals about how they deal with rewire.

anyone know of any free vstis/hosts that can do this?

Cool! We certainly need that, hope you gonna post them when you are finnished. I've put up a thread that lists free REX2 sites: link!

Regarding the creation of REX2 files it seems like Recycle is the only alternative (at least according o this thread): link!

Good luck!

Aha, there is a hint in that thread. Some older Soundblaster cards had a ReCycle Lite bundled with them, try to find an old one on Ebay ;-)
