Ouch!. LOL! Can you talk about your politicians in that way? Don't you get added to some long list and labelled a subversive? Great lists guys, but how many supergroups have actually worked, apart from the junkies that is?

No offence to anyone's list but I think there are people here on RW that have more talent than these groups listed ( okay except for the one with Hendrix much respect).
Anyway I degress.. My point is that I would rather listen to the songs comming out off these pages. The only thing any of these other musicians have over you guys is being in the right time frame and being grabbed up and marketed.. Look at todays music GACK!! The only band I have liked that has come out in the last few years is NickelBack and they don't do guitar solos :( . This is the age of reality show unfortunatley but atleast if I want to hear some good music I can surf to RW on my Ps3 and listen to some killer original stuff through my surround sound system.. If I want to hear cover songs then I can just click on Troy2006's page (he often sounds better than the originals anyway). And if I want to listen to garbage I just go to my page lol, instead of buying the regurgitated leftovers, of someone elses leftovers that I hear on the radio nowadays..

Stop with belittling yourself man even if mostly in jest. Seems to be a pattern.

Oh, I've seen Blair getting slammed countless times...and not even in Parliament. They almost seem to relish it there, I love watching a good Parliament debate over American senate its like watching speed chess as opposed to regular.

I hear ya, I hate my own stuff too......cause I like you hear every missed note or flaw in all my recordings. The important thing is I have a blast making them, so I just don't torture myself by critiquing it after. I just record them and forget them......lol

Here is the Ultimate supergroup (my opinion)

Tony Iommi - Guitarist
Geezer Butler - Bass
Bill Ward - Drums
John "Ozzy" Osbourne - Vocals

And they are only allowed to put out 4 albums! Oh Wait!!! That's Black Sabbath!!!!lol

I'm sure alot of you will disagree with this one, but they have been a HUGE influence on me and my playing. As for the 4 album thing, they started sucking after their 4th one.

I actually tried to put together a real supergroup but it's hard! I pick my favorites but they would probably suck ass together since they play diff genres of music! Here is one I did

Jimi Hendrix - Guitar/Vocals
Flea - Bass
Soundgarden/Pearl Jams Drummer (don't know his name)
Jack White - Guitar/maybe some vocals

Oh Yeah! Weird as it sounds it was listening to Flea playing bass on RHCP's version of Fire that got me into Hendrix!
I saw the Chili's live in 1992, Flea was incredible!
Doing the Magic Johnson in his tighty whities!

I think I may attempt a Hendrix tune soon! I might have to call on you for some help Australia!!

As far as Hendrix goes all I can play is the chord part of the chorus to Purple Haze LOL

You'll probably need someone else for that as much as I'd love to.

Most the time he was just pulling this stuff out of his arse so learning it note for note sounds really stiff (not to mention time consuming and difficult!). I can't really get to that place he was at where it was all coming from.

He used to have a pretty loose framework he used to go from and because of is insane hands which afforded his unorthodox technique (thumbed bass notes etc) could improvise some pretty intricate chordal lead `rhythm`.

Speaking of RHCP Frusciante in those early days was bleep awesome, he really channeled Hendrix at times. How about that outro to Sir Psycho Sexy?

Sir Psycho Sexy is one of my favs of all time! Blood Sugar Sex Magic is Amazing!!!!
I started out on bass a year or two before it came out and I think I learned all the songs on that album. I bought a Phase Shifter to play Sir Pshyco. Flea said he used one that had a dying battery while recording......I could never get that sound with mine.lol

Actually I almost gave up on playing bass in my early days until I heard Higher Ground by the Chili's. I was "what the f**k is that?" I had never heard bass playing like that before! I couldn't stand all the bass playing I was hearing then....just play the root note while the guitarist has fun??? Screw That!!

Frusciante def. had some Hendrix flowing through his veins in those days! I've heard a really good version of Castles Made Of Sand by the Chili's!

I hear ya on the stiffness trying to play Hendrix! Even SRV sounded a little stiff! I saw Clapton last year and he played Little Wing, probably the best Hendrix cover I've heard. He didn't try to do it note for note, actually sounded a bit like a Clapton tune.

It's nice that Frusciante has `found his voice` and all that but I really miss the old Hendrix disciple era. How was the backwards guitar on Give It Away!? (I'm pretty sure I'm thinking of the right track)

Ya the Chilis in general are lacking these days. Seems to happen to bands when they stop using heroin!lol

The guitar solo on give it away right? pretty awesome! The Butthole Surfers used to do some pretty cool backwards guitar stuff too. I once read how they do it but never tried......waaaay beyond my ability at the time.

Cool to see a mention to Ty as fav guitarist for a super group....he's AWESOME and very under-appreciated in rock music!
