Hey Riffer, I looked at these real hard just the other day and they sounded great! We had them pretty cranked up and they were crystal clear. It was an untreated room so there was some reflection, but they sounded good. I liked the fact that they came as a pair too. But I actually ended up buying the Mackie MR-5's. I got a better deal. I would have been happy with the Alesis though!
Have fun they sound great!

I just bought a pair identical to the ones you're looking at, only mine are the smaller 320s. I'm really happy with them. They're great for mixing in a regular size, untreated bedroom like mine. They've got more volume than you'll ever use, and with the 5" drivers, you should be able to get pretty decent low end. I'm using a small 6" sub with mine and it sounds great. Can't speak to reliability yet as they're brand new, but they seem pretty solid even if they're relatively light.

All I can tell ya is they sound good to me. Your results may vary, void where prohibited.
