Either one of them could play circles around me on their worst day, so I can't say anything bad about either of them :)

I agree....I should have used a better reference....but couldn't be bothered with thinking of some great obscure player and I had just had that video open sooo......I agree...lol :)

What a bleep... I can't imagine how it would have *felt* for him. Would have been awesome to be able to dance like that.

I am the first to admit that Buckethead is not for everyone. Some of it just turns me off its so wacky.

But then there is tracks like these that are just superb outstanding from Buckethead and Friends.

There are no big solos on any of those.

Great musicians are remembered over time for their music and achievements. In 25 years IF his music is still being played on the radio and mimicked by kids on their guitars then I'll believe he is great. But as of now, I think he is just a trend that will fade out just as bands have such as Green Day along with others.

And this has nothing to do with popularity, but everything to do with being remembered.

Funny you mention Green Day. I hear they have a new album coming out. I know this not because I'm a fan, but because I saw a commercial stating as much on prime time tv. Green Day is one of those bands that I wish would just go away. Unfortunately as long as MTV says they're cool, kids will continue to buy their stuff.

Well I believe it actually has a lot to do with how much money one has to market themself. If you can make yourself appear top notch with great marketing techniques such as album art, personal appearance, good dance moves, a good agent/manager, and music that has an intro/verse/chorus/verse/chorus/lead/verse/chorus/outro then anyone can be on top even for just a little while.

I think it's all in how you market yourself especially when you have the cash to do so.

<Forest Gump voice> That's all I have to say about that.
