Mysmolnet: is that a no-name standard strat tremolo? I'm looking for something more high-end like a Wilkinson or Gotoh trem. You got anymore info on your trem?

Ok, mysmolnet, I will buy it, give me price and I will show you the money :-)

I didn't see a trem arm? Is the trem block the kind that you screw on the trem arm or is it the push-in type?

Oh man! You gotta love this guy (Rolijen)! He's made a full youtube tutorial on how to build your own custom fender strat, it's excellent stuff!

This is how I will install Mysmolnets trem :

And don't miss the old geezers evaluation of the Fender Super Champ XD from his kitchen :-) Amazing Red Hot Chili Pepper sound, why doesn't my Pod or Amplitude sound like this (they are not even close to touching this)???

Yeah just can't beat the real thing. I'm wondering though Jouni, are you now beginning to answer the question you posed a few months ago...'what's so special about fenders' :D Welcome to the club....:)

Might be, might be, or I'm just in a retro phase, next month I will wake up with a red twisted beard and playing Dimebag riffs on the Dean guitar from hell, who knows :-)

I just won this strat copy neck on eBay:

Image

It's from china, totally nonamer, 21 frets, standard in every aspect, and I got it for ... $9.99! But with shipping and shipping insurance it ended at $45 which still is about 4 times cheaper than buying a chinese nonamer here in sweden ...

Damn! I was so impressed and focused on the guitar, I didn't notice his herb garden!

I guess I got it on the brain or something. The leaves were the first thing I noticed! Now those are the leaves that get long and slender correct? We never see that around these parts.

I bought a standard fender trem bridge from Mysmolnet and installed it. Seems to fit perfectly.

I expect the neck and the locking tuners I bought on eBay to arrive during this week. After that I will mount everything just to see how it works and to make sure to do all the necessary drilling and routing before I paint the guitar.
