pm09 deleted all of his empty rifflinks! I think with a little guidance he'll start developing full songs to post.

Thank god no-one ever told Tiny Tim to sing in tune!
"I think the problem might have been, that there was a stonehenge monument on stage in danger of being crushed, by a dwarf". "I really think you're making a big thing out of this". "Making a big thing out of it would have been a good idea".

Great Job Rob! It's true junkies like you that helped me get RW figured out. I appreciate it and I'm sure the new guy does too.

I've been showing some new users the RW product. The biggest problem they are having is the concept of Casting vs. Linking a song and who can see what and where. Even after a few hands-on jamming sessions it is still confusing to them.

It's not the new user's fault they do something other junkies may think is terrible. It's the products fault. Example: Songs roll off the list in public collaboration. There are no sorting filters for each list etc.. You should be able to show a list (public for instance) and then sort by date, who's active right now, skip empty tunes, last 20, last 2 days, Member name, Song title, etc.. It's a shortcoming in the product and not a new user issue at all.

Hopefully, some junkies will call it as it really is and not make the issue a "new user" problem.. We need new user's to fuel the $ for further development of the product and have more folks to jam with. I think some Junkies slamming new user's actions in the forum is messed up too. I would hate to be a new user and find a post about how I didn't comply with some other Junkies expectations. Bah.

Time to author the Visual Guide to RW with nice big pictures and arrows and steps clearly shown visually to complete a Riffcast, Rifflink, or record.

Can you imagine what would happen if all of a sudden 1000 new users joined over a 2 month period. Or the sign-up rate was say 500 new users per month. It's about scaling, product features, and good architecture. Eventually, this product will attract many thousands of users.. Something to think about..

Cheers!

Didn't some wise man say : If there exists a exploit, be certain that sooner or later it will get exploited unintentionally or intentionally.

btw, i haven't rifflinked much, but i think there is a condition that the creator should be the first contributor in the collab and only then others can work on it, and if so is the case , what is the purpose for even making an empty collab accessible to others when they can't do much about/in it anyway.

Well, this has always been a community of users. I don't know what the rules are or what the best practice is because we have never defined that. I'm pretty sure some of my tongue in cheek humor is getting missed though! Oh well, those of you that know me will understand I mean no disrespect. Just pointing to the elephants in the room and trying to have a lil' fun :)

Na! It's a community! As long as the liquor store doesn't burn down - we will be fine.

Naaahhhh...it's nobodys fault...it's just some people make drama out of it. I wonder how new users react if they read some of the statements about them ? And joking can't be recognized as long as you don't use smileys...you know...foreigners and people that life outside the U.S...oh I forgot, there is no outside the U.S...:D

I'm pretty sure Sonoma deletes all of his empty songs if they want to.
