I found my RR2 entry listed under an admin account. How do you get to the old riffcaster? I think I'm missing some stuff.

Do you guys delete your RW files you have on your local computer? Just load it up in RW, make sure the settings are good to go, and re-riffcast it again.

Thats what I'm gonna have to do to get my old or "first" riffcast up again, If I can remember which one it is.

I have the worst 1st cast - so bad in fact, I'm not going to even post the link.. Really! It's bad (also uses demo drummer - lol)! All I remember is thinking is holy crap this went to the website and not my local hard-drive? Oh no.. Heart pounding.. this is not what I want folks to hear. I then tried to make it better and fix it up and then recast to show everyone how it was supposed to be.. Unfortunately, I fooled myself.. It can NOT be fixed and I really should have deleted it and the next 10 songs I casted (that's how bad - bad can be. lol).

That was back in early Ought 7.

My 1st riffcast was this song I wrote about my dad... I totally knew nothing about recording but here it is in its awfull messines.. The 1st one was deleted after I feebly attempted lead on this version.. so technically this is my second cast.

JouniL wrote:Seems like some 10 of my first riffcasts are gone from the Riffworld site. I remember that when they remade the site in the beginning of 2008 Sonoma was to convert the old riffcasts to the new site but obviously mine didn't. Fortunately I have all my projects on my harddrive so here is a repost of my first riffcast, RiffRaff. I changed the mix slightly since the drums were messed up, haven't opened the project in over 1 year and I guess some of the demodrummers must have changed since then.

http://www.riffworld.com/Members/JouniL/riffraff-repost/

No bass and the drummers are the demo drummers MekanicBeats, Habanero-Bridge and "When I drumaround". Before this I hadn't done any digital recording whatsoever and this is also my first attempt for a guitar solo (I used to play bass in some rock bands some 20 years ago). The main riff is stolen from YES.

One thing that makes a huge difference from the first version is that the pumping from the old master compressor is gone, the new one seems to apply compression in two stages which really sounds much better! I have not done any mastering on this one. This must be the first Riffcast I've done from within Riffworks for almost a year now :-)

I really liked this track. Never heard the YES song you are talking about but everything fits quite nicely here.

Thnx for your comment Losty! The YES song I'm talking about is this one, HUGE hit in the early 80's:

I don't know whether you'll take this as a compliment or an insult but I could totally hear that track of yours on a video game. "MotoGP 1000" or something It just had a certain quality I'm struggling to really define and express.

Anyway, fair cop I say :) You did the riff justice and then some.
