I love the crisp tones they get, but I hate when one breaks and I have to replace it before the song I'm working on is finished. It's either replace just the one until it's finished or replace them all and re- record the rhythm tracks. The sound is totally different.

Nobody told me you were supposed to change 'em
No-one remembers what you do or say. Everyone remembers how you made them feel. Allegedly !!!!

Can't beat Ernie Ball Strings, I've been using them for years. Love the Power Slinkys!

I still use good ol Boomers..........but must admit I rarely change them. I lock them in tune and don't have to touch them until next string change or the odd break. But in the time I have owned my Ibanez, I have yet to break a string......lol

Average set of strings will stay on my guitar almost 6 months!

I use boomer .009's and bend a lot. It hasen't happened in a while, but when a string gives it's always an awe crap moment. I use to replace my strings on my main guitar once a week, and I'm liking the once a year thing I have going on now.

I was in a house band back then, and I learned from experience that I can't get 2 weeks off a set without snapping one at the least opportune time. :)

Ernie Ball Super Slinky and Regular Slinky but you string breaking types might try the RPS reinforced Slinky's.

I change about once a month, depending on how much I play.

I like to change em when they run the risk of giving me tetanus...
I also prefer 11's on my guitars... :) no particular brand though, just whatever I can find at a good price.... im cheap..

I guess I'm at the opposite end of the spectrum - I swear by Elixirs now. Been using them for about 3 years and I love em. They are definitely more expensive, but when they last 3 times as long as normal strings, it's worth it.

I'm sold on the Elixirs too, I think they're well worth the price. I like the tone too, especially on my acoustic 12 string.

I gotta give those Elixirs a try. I love D'Addario's bounce and tone but they dull out real quick.

Top three things I hate about guitar in order are:

1. Changing strings
2. Tuning
3. Breaking a string (see #1)

Nothing like playing your guitar just after having your guitar intonated/action setup with new strings.

I just had my strat setup with 11's and I'm lovin it. <(not trying to sing the hook from a McDonalds commercial)

yeah Mudd I agree...my guitar is screaming for a tune up and it is really noticeable. They just charge too damn much around here.
