I have never broken a string ever. Except for once when I tried to tune up an octave. Maybe it's because I play with a pretty light touch though I do dig in to the heavier strings.

I've always wondered why people break them? I used to try to do the 2 step bend on Another Brick In The Wall, still no breaking. I've played lots of brands, does not matter.

When clean sounds are dull and they feel gross.

TBH I don't even notice these days.

I just don't have the time to play that often so changing strings before they break would be wasteful for me.

I like playing but I'll never make any money out of it so I've been putting off dedicating any real time to playing in lieu of studying and trying to make some cash. I want to buy some of those MIDI pickups and use em to accelerate some theory and ear training.

It's always been a dream of mine to be able to jam *live* with people. "Hey boys this one is in C" etc You can't stop halfway through a song and stick em on loop while you are stumbling around trying to find the right notes. "Wait, wait, wait ..."

That's the plan - but time keeps slipping by and I'm still broke. 1000USD can be a lot of money some times.

I'm with the Elixer guys too, I HATE changing strings but love the sound new ones after stretching them a bit. I've broken 2 strings in my relatively short 'career' and was quite proud, lol

wow, that would be about, $230hk!

i paid $120hk for some martin acustic strings and i thought that was alot.
i'll have to check the price on the elixers.

most of the strings run about $50hk, slinky's, fender, d'dario. that's about $4.50us!
never really thought about it.

i get the ones with pictures on the pack. yingwie, gilmore (broke one just putting it on), hendrix (cool ladyland sticker included)

i used to use hybred slinky's. (i get that right?)

anyone really get those perfect little coils around the tuner stems, all the time?
i've seen barbed wire coiled better than mine. takes a couple weeks to tighten up to where they hold a note for awhile too.
"..you know, i have no professional training of singing and dancing"
