Free speech is a wonderous thing but then again, so is free software. It doesn't sound like you've tried it but hey, you're still entitled to believe you won't like it.

A couple of points though ...

1. The company is called Sonoma Wire Works
2. The product is called RiffWorks

Spot on with the assumption that it can be a bedroom jamming tool but you'll find other major label artists out there using it too - Todd Rundgren, for example.

If you don't want to use it, that's cool - but don't condemn anything until you've tried it.
Oh, and give yourself a chance too. If you never get anything it's almost definitely because you don't want to try to.

RiffWorks isn't like other recording software but no-one's making an apology for that and thousands of users are happily making high quality audio thanks to it. Some of us have even taken up playing again because of it.

BTW, my missus says I'm way past the point of having fun in the bedroom.
Cheers!
Scott

With that kind of attitude, it sounds to me like you're going to be frustrated with just about any software you try. Honestly guy, Riffworks is about the easiest to use recording software you're going to find. I'll admit it's not 100% intuitive, but nothing is! If you compare Riffworks with just about any other DAW, you'll see there is no comparison when it comes to ease of use. And unlike other DAWs, Riffworks doesn't come with a 300-page book entitled, 'Getting Started'. :)

I'd recommend giving Riffworks another try. If you have any specific questions, lots of folks here will be happy to help you get up and running. On top of being great software, there's a really cool community of folks here, just like you, who are happy to help.

Yes it will be much easier cutting and gluing pieces of tape together when you want to edit something.

This software is so easy to use I'd say you put more effort into writing your rant than you probably did with this software.

OK NOW...BYE BYE!!

I think if you could figure out how to post on this forum, I think you'll have no problem figuring out how to use riffworks. It's a great piece of software and trust me that it's worth trying out.

"i cant see how i could use it or record in a way i would recognise."

As he struggles to click Rec and Play at the same time with only one cursor......

If we were to poll the average age I'd bet a 12 pack that we are far closer to 40 on average than 14.

You got me on the bedroom recording though! :)

Just hit the big red button. Get past that and I'm sure a bunch of people here would offer help if you were to ask.

Edit: Haha Slingy!
