Ha! I got stuck with one of those too. If you ever figure out what the hell to do with it let me know...

Let's see: Lots of funky picks that are just plain ugly, slides that are too big, Eggs, triangles, a Jimi Hendrix toy, a footstool, a tuner which I don't use because of the pod X3, winder, straps, stands... wow

Me too! :) Speaking of picks, this is the only pick I use. Great solid pick, does not bend, and just feels so natural when I play.

At $13 bucks each for that Dunlop Jazz pricey. How long does it take you to wear one out? I would lose it or leave it in my pockets and it would get lost in the wash. Ha Ha

Thanks

There a little costly but I've never worn one out except for the yellow writing which fades away all the time.

$13??? Holy poopstain batman! I usually buy like 50 picks at a time and loose 'em soon as I bust 'em out. I'd like to try one of those though, probably gives a nice sharp sound.

I have tried that shape before and actually liked it.

Star Pick man myself.

Anybody try one of those amp stands that sits on the floor and you lean your amp back on it? Does that maintain the bass you get from having it straight on the floor?

The tilt back amp stand is killer. I have one. It projects the sound better. I put my open back combo up on top and a closed back extension cab on the ground in front of it.

I'll vouch for Slinger on the tilt back amp stand. It's great when using a combo amp in a small club. As anyone who's been there knows, when your combo is flat on the floor, you have a hard time hearing it, but eardrums in the front row get blistered. I used it with an old Fender combo for the longest time. I've actually used it with my Marshall and Avatar 2x12 cab as well, which is about 3/4 the size of a 4x12 and weighs 65 lbs., still works great.

As far as the 13-dollar pick goes, don't know if I'd want to pay that much for one, but I do have picks that are over 10 years old, so I could probably keep track of it if I did buy one. I like the thin Dunlop Jazz picks. Much thinner, and more disposable. :)

Many years ago a friend of mine made some wooden picks. I think they were Purple Heart wood. They made a really cool sound on my bass. I lost the last one before I started any recordings...too bad.
Other than that for my guitar I use Jim Dunlop Nylon picks - .60 mm for strumming, to 1 mm for the metal.
For bass I've always used the big ass Fender Heavy's (used to break E strings with those trying to play louder than my drummer)
