Maybe i shouldn't post this stuff...alot of work still needs to be done with the band sound and our stage presence but i know you guys been wondering where i've been. Between Family, work ,girlfriend, buying a house , playing guitar with Suns Of The Empier and doing my owen Rick Andrews music project it's been very hard to even find time to just be a Junkie let alone chating and /or Rifflinking. So, i'll try and get pictures of all but for now here is a tast (lol...a litle bitter i might add but it went beter than i thought it would) of the The Rick Andrews Project.

BTW.... thank you all so very much for all the shout outs and invites. Please understand i've been way busy but i havent forgot all your friendships. Rock On ! Peace!!!

...and then again, maybe you should! It's the only way we can see you're still alive and kicking!! ;) If we can't support you in person, it's great to see we can do it through the power of YouTube. You obviously appeal across the generations and I love the fact that the elderly person cares not a jot for the camera man, who must have had sore arms after shooting the song with his arms above his head!
Keep on rockin' it Rick. Y'all are so hot, my ice-cream is meltin'!!
Cheers!

Your Ice Cream is melting Scott because of global warming, even in Scotland. But Rick is cooking nonetheless. Awesome stuff Rick. I think I can remember doing something like that back when dinosaurs ruled the earth. The raised stage, the amps and having fun...it's called gigging or something, isn't it? Yeah man, I'm jealous as hell. Keep that band going so I can come and jam with you when I'm next in the area.

Hey Rick, good to 'see' you again. These are long overdue ya know. Few questions. Transferring your signature tones from the l6 models to a live situation... what did you decide upon? I see what looks to be a L6 amp head lurking behind you, is that what looks to be an HD147? also, are you using a wireless? Seems your signal cut for a bit but it looked it may have been a floor unit .... regardless, I wanted to mention that you kept your composure and didn't lose your place/mindset- very professional and commendable. I assume you guys are all using the same tuner and are not in 'tune to Rick' mode anymore. (little friendly stab at ya there)

LOL ! Yea we were probably out of tune but all in..lol! Well, that amp is actually a Line 6 Vetta with an Engle Cab. Sometimes i think it sounds hot and other times not...this was one of them not nights and i was told that i had a bad ground in one of my cables.. yea i tryed keeping my composure but i was irritated quite a bit and then trying to make sure the drummer had the breaks..all in all it went better than i thought it was going. Thanks so much for your feedback on all this Tom..it means alot that you payed attention and encouraged with your words! Peace and Blessings Bro!!!

Vetta and Engl huh? those are some serious investments.
Hey, it really does react like a tube amp then!
I used to think the same things when going from stage to stage, room to room, night to night... At times I'd be trying different rebiasing of my amp every week when in town - the techs would say,"its right on the money", so I was at a loss somewhat as to why some nights I thought the sound coming from the speaker was just the way I wanted it and on others, not - even with the everything else the same. While it could likely have been a cable issue, it was not something I gave serious consideration at the time as the cables worked.
Beer could be a factor, but, who knows? I think Bill will have some input on this.

I'm still waiting for a Vetta preamp mated with a Bogner output though b4 I plunge on that amp, I wonder if they'd ever do it. Seems the whole reason for the Bogner hybrid was to salvage/reinvent the spyder line.

All in all, cable aside - you're playing was on. It still sounds like Rick Andrews.
Good cables are indispensable in tone transfer as is having a backup. Choosing the right cable is as about a science nowadays as having the right mic and mic placement.

and, btw, my preference is to stay away from Monster (cost factor and WHY the cost factor is high - which has nothing to do directly with cable quality)
Mogami seems like a decent way to go.

Mighty cool stuff Rickster, way to go. Looking forward to seeing you again tonight mate :)

I know nothing of this beer stuff Tom mentions ;)

My gigging years were way before all this talk of patches and tones etc but I do know that the acoustics of every venue we played at were drastically different and getting stuff to sound the same each night was a virtual impossiblity. Wooden floors, lots of windows, carpets, curtains, more bodies on the dance floor, less chairs, acoustic ceiling tiles etc etc etc all made a difference. Biggest thing is, ignore the bum notes, WTF they're history anyway and they probably didn't notice, have fun and look as if you're having fun and you won't go wrong my junkie bruddah :)

Uncle Bill
No-one remembers what you do or say. Everyone remembers how you made them feel. Allegedly !!!!
