yep, ive put a down payment on a variax 600.
after checking the online dealers, I found it would be cheaper for me, in canada, to have a local dealer order it in for me, after shipping and customs fees.
comes to $970 before tax, and around $1,090 after tax. the price tag is a little scary but damn, I cant wait to be playing that thing. if its as good as it sounds, I may get an accoustic one next.

I have both acoustic and electric Vax guitars (as well as the bass). Love 'em all! The tones you can achieve are virtually limitless. Enjoy it :)

i have the same as bluesydude a 300
one thing you never should do.
dont hook it up to a mixer with the phantompower on!
it will fry the a/b stomp box .
oh and you should get the variax workbench.

I picked up the Variax 705 5 string bass when they were discontinued and went on sale for $499. It was a steal! It's a great bass, its all I play now.

Be careful when you change strings or you can break the wire inside the saddle. I always cut my string off very near the bridge so I only have to pull a small amount of string through the guitar.

And if you haven't already, be sure to check out the Variax forums on Line 6 site.

There is a nice looking warmoth strat with variax guts on ebay. Price seems too high though.
