Dude!!!! WTF..... I have full confidence that you'll be back playing again, sooner or later.......we all get burnt out on music, guitar, songwriting etc....every so often.....and need to take a step back.....I'm in a songwriting rut at the moment but I feel it all coming back......heck, I hardly played my guitars at all the weeks leading up to the East meets West Junkie Convention, just when I needed to be getting my chops up the most.....but playing with those fellas jolted me right back.....I hope you'll come back too....Jess you way rock....so come back soon, ya hear?

Say it ain't so, Jess. I've enjoyed your music and encourage you to continue making music. I hope you enjoy what ever you pursue and I'm sure you know that we will continue to watch for new sounds from Nashville! God bless.

Dude, music is like breathing / eating. Eat too much or hyperventilate and it gets too much. Have the break it sounds like you need and get back to it. It's always fun and relaxing and will be the there waiting for you.

Jesse, take a break if you need to - but I don't want to hear crazy talk like that. You're way too effing good to never play again. So.....permission to sell off all your gear and stop playing....DENIED. :)

i totally get it jesse. I spent almost 7 years not playing my guitar more than a handful of days each year. You will be back, and now that you sold all your equipment, ya ding-dong, it's only gonna be more of a challenge that you will be forced to overcome. But that's ok. We all live our lives for what makes us happy.

I know for a fact that you are just as much a musician as all of us in this community, and a damn fine one at that, meaning you won't be able to stay away for long. Music is a part of our souls and will never leave us.

I left music because I tried to make it my life and ended up watching my friends around me fall like a house of cards to crystal meth, heroin and cocaine. It hurt too much. The lifestyle of being a rock musician and sound engineer subjected me to everything - sex, drugs and rock and roll! I don't regret it now. I had a blast. But I didn't succeed at making a living off my music, which was my dream. I turned my back on music and left my hometown, Seattle, moving across country several times and starting a family along the way.

Jesse, you will find your way back to music one way or another, when you are ready. But you will be back to fill that void. Please don't delete any of your music. It needs to stay where everyone can hear it! It's really good!

Well we all need a break sometimes. Enjoy it! Then get a guitar that inspires you to play it!

Ehh it's like going on a diet or quitting smoking you can't announce it and actually pull it off. You're already doomed to be back before you think. :)

Jesse..yea..wtf...............well i've been there for the most part and actually felt like that this summer too. When it's not in you , it's not in you...maybe your being called to do other things.....but i also know that whole thing about comeing back to your first love "playing guitar. I have a great friend of mine that was my original inspiration to play when i was about 12..he was about 18... long story short, he quit and went to school and is very sucessfull with an engineere job ......he has recently decided to start playing again and actually asked me to show him some stuff..( i would have never thought that would be possible the way i looked up to him).....he so misses playing.. and once he gets going,..watch out....!
Anyway , i wish that you would continue to play and post your grand works......so if there is just a part of it in you still...go get your self another guitar or maybe even a chapman stick and lets get colabing... that should bring you out of the muck! I know it's been awhile bro but miss you already ...lol your like a Marine once one always one...youll be back! Peace to you and yours Jesse!!!!!!

Jesse, trust me, I quit playing guitar/bass '94. I sold all my gear, didn't touch a guitar for 13 years. But here I am again, there is no way to escape it, you and I and the rest of us are ... junkies (in a positive sense).

Take your time, let it lurk within you, suddenly one day you will sit there again, your fingertips bleeding, you just invented a killer riff, you feel the rush, the proudness, the sky high take off, the music, and at the end of the tunnel we will be there to meet you again!

Take care,

/Jouni

My dad did the same thing once. Met a girl. Got married. Sold his BLACK LESPAUL 3 PICKUP SPECIAL EDITION WITH GOLD HARDWARE. "Was it worth it dad?" "Biggest mistake I've ever made!" he says. Haha maybe you just need to take a breather. Music is consuming, but it's also amazingly satisfying if kept in the proper place. Wish you the best!

aaaaaaawww man.... Not Flex... the dreaded infliction we all get from time to time...

You don't sell yer stuff! Ya stick it away for that day when you get a song in yer head and know where the notes are before your ever played it. The day will come my friend, maybe sooner, maybe later, but it'll come. It'll only take one sweet note, and you'll look at Lucille (or what ever your ax's name is) with a smile and say "it's nice to have you back baby."

That's f'n it... I'm not drinkin beer till he plays again...

Play yet flex? Come on man I'm gettin thirsty...

Now?

Hang in there brudda you'll get it back in due time.
