QA and Technical Support Associate (Part-Time)

Sonoma Wire Works is looking for a detail oriented and organized QA and Technical Support Associate to work part-time in our Mountain View, CA office. This dynamic position would work with our engineering and marketing departments to provide timely technical support to customers who use Sonoma's audio software and hardware products for Mac/PC/iOS, ship products, manage inventory, and assist in other QA, marketing and sales areas as needed. This is the perfect position for someone interested in helping musicians have fun using Sonoma’s tools, and is an excellent entry point into many projects at Sonoma that include creating and promoting audio tools for the music industry. This is a part time position (20 hours per week, ideally 4 hours per day during business hours), and has the potential to become full-time.

Pay: $15-$20 per hour depending on experience.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support, answer inquiries, and provide information about products and services to users via email (and occasional phone calls) in a timely and courteous manner.
  • Test and recreate computer and audio equipment configurations to identify and troubleshoot problems, and ensure they are fixed.
  • Document all pertinent information and solutions in a knowledge base.
  • Ship software and hardware products to customers both domestically and internationally.
  • Maintain inventory and order adequate levels of office supplies.

Additional Project Possibilities:

  • Software and hardware QA testing.
  • Promo and guide video production (storyboard, script, lighting, camera work, voice over, music, production).
  • Demo song creation.
  • Tradeshow demo planning, testing, set-up and attendance (NAMM, Musikmesse, AES, Taxi, etc.).
  • Newsletter and website content creation.
  • Website updates (HTML, Php, CSS).
  • Product marketing visuals creation.
  • User guide and documentation writing.

Key Requirements:

  • Experience using and troubleshooting software and hardware on both desktop and mobile (Mac/PC/iOS).
  • Able to speak and write clearly and accurately.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in typing and grammar.
  • Excellent customer service practices and phone etiquette.
  • Willingness to co-operate with others and perform a variety of functions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Able to multi-task, prioritize, and complete projects in a timely manner.
  • Reliable transportation and the ability to lift up to 20 pounds.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of audio equipment and software (DAWs).
  • Able to speak and write clearly and accurately.
  • Basic HTML and CSS experience.
