Second in a series of Bernard "Pretty" Purdie GrooveSets for DrumCore 4, "BP Chase" is an uptempo set of funk grooves with that unmistakable cop drama car chase scene vibe. EarthBeat GrooveSets feature premiere session percussionist Eric Darken and ace drummer Greg Morrow. Like most Discrete Drums collections, EarthBeat was produced by Rick DiFonzo, the co-founder of Discrete Drums. It was recorded in Studio E at the Sound Kitchen in Cool Springs, TN by Steve Marcantonio. Eric Darken has recorded with a variety of artists including Bon Jovi, Rascal Flatts, Faith Hill, Willie Nelson, Brad Paisley, Taylor Swift, Keith Urban and others. Greg Morrow has worked with industry talents like the Dixie Chicks, Van Zant, 38 Special, Amy Grant, and more.
Box of Rocks, the first DC4 GrooveSet from EarthBeat, is a mid-tempo groove with laid back drums. Includes 31 loops (46 MB) for $4.99.
Heavy Mental GrooveSets feature an earth shattering performance by legendary drummer Tony Morra recorded in the world famous Big Boy Room at The Sound Kitchen. Tony Morra started playing drums at age 3 in Queens. His professional career began at 16. He played just about every club in New York area (Bitter End, CBGB, etc.). Since then he has played for many artists in Nashville and worldwide and is producing new bands and artists. The engineer is Steve Marcantonio. His work encompasses classic Nashville as well as the edgier side of the genre, including projects for Rodney Crowell, Deana Carter, Billy Falcon, the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, George Strait, Alabama, and many others.
6 Cylinder, the first DC4 GrooveSet from Heavy Mental 2, has a lot of feel to it with great accents. The parts range from simple grooves to an all out bash. Includes 51 loops (64 MB) for $4.99.
Kickin' Country GrooveSets also feature Tony Morra recorded at his studio, Downtown Batterie Studio, near Nashville, Tennessee.
Boot Scoot, the first DC4 GrooveSet from Kickin' Country, has a straight-forward shuffle beat emphasizing kick and snare. Includes 47 loops (46 MB) for $4.99.
Excerpts from the DrumCore 4 review by Rich Tozzoli: "I use DrumCore because it's quick and easy to get tracks working and, most importantly, the sound, samples and performances are top notch. One of the reasons it sounds so good is that the drummers recorded their tracks in world class studios using their own kits at varying velocities and tempos. Simply put, the tracks just work! Afterwards in DC 'production land', the MIDI loops were also created, allowing you access to either the audio or MIDI. With the MIDI tracks, I like that you can mix and match other drummers' kits with the chosen loop, for example, use Matt Sorums drums with Alan White's MIDI loops."
