RiffWorks is a Sonoma Wire Works product. Line 6 is a distributor of RiffWorks Line 6 Edition.

The Line 6 Edition of RiffWorks is available from Line 6 as a download at a special price of $99 for Line 6 customers: http://line6.com/rifftracker/version20.html

RiffWorks Line 6 Edition is included in the box with a GuitarPort as GuitarPort RiffTracker, and is available from many dealers for approximately $189 street price: http://www.line6.com/store/hardware.html?modelID=46

What is the difference between the two? RiffWorks Line 6 Edition includes nearly all the same main features as RiffWorks Standard, 8 InstantDrummer sessions (Standard includes 9), RiffCaster and RiffLink. The only real difference between the two versions is RiffWorks Line 6 Edition works with compatible Line 6 devices only: GuitarPort, PODXT, PODXT Live, PODXT Pro, TonePort (UX1, UX2, KB37, DI-S/G and GX) and is keyed to one hardware device at a time. While RiffWorks Standard works with all ASIO and Core Audio devices (including the Line 6 devices listed above) and is not keyed to hardware. RiffWorks Line 6 Edition does not include IK Multimedia's AmpliTube 2 Live plug-in.

Note: Line 6 is offering a free upgrade to RiffWorks Line 6 Edition (v2) for people who purchase(d) RiffWorks (v1) on or after February 1, 2006. This offer includes purchases made on or after February 1, 2006 in any store that sells GuitarPort RiffTracker (like Guitar Center, Comp USA, Amazon and Musician's Friend) as well as online purchases of RiffWorks (v1) for GuitarPort and the PODxt line from the Line 6 store.
