GuitarJack Model 2 ($149) works with iPhone 5, iPod touch (5th gen.), iPad mini and iPad 4 using Apple's Lightning to 30-pin Adapter, which is required and sold separately. GuitarJack Model 2 also works with iPad 3, iPad 2, iPad, iPhone 4S, iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS and iPod touch (3rd and 4th gen.) with and without a CableJive 30-pin to 30-pin dockxtender cable, which is recommended and sold separately. iPod touch 2nd gen. info. GuitarJack Model 2 also offers the addition of an AD/DA converter - ready for 24-bit recording when application support is available on iPhone 4, iPad 2, iPad, and iPod touch (4th generation) and newer devices.
GuitarJack Model 1 connects a wide range of instruments, microphones, and other audio hardware to compatible iOS devices via 1/4-inch instrument and 1/8-inch stereo mic/line inputs. When used with iOS apps like FourTrack, GuitarJack Model 1 was the first dock connecting, device-powered iOS accessory to offer stereo recording; simultaneous voice and instrument recording; a 1/4 inch instrument input with configurable Pad, Lo-Z and Hi-Z modes and 60 dB of continuous level control; an 1/8 inch stereo mic/line input with configurable Pad and 60 dB of continuous level control; and an 1/8 inch stereo output with increased drive for headphones. Compatibility
- GuitarJack Model 1 is NOT compatible with iPhone 4, iPad 2, iPad, or iPod touch (4th generation). GuitarJack Model 1 is compatible with iOS 3 and later on iPod touch (2nd and 3rd generation). See GuitarJack Model 2 for compatiblility with the latest devices. Email Sonoma with questions.
- The GuitarTone amps and effects app requires iOS 4.2 or later, and is recommended for iPhone 4, iPhone 4S or iPod touch (4th generation). GuitarTone will work with iPhone 3GS and iPod touch (3rd generation). GuitarTone is not designed to work on iPhone 3G or iPod touch (2nd generation). iPhone 3G and iPod touch (2nd generation) users may use the GuitarJack control panel in Taylor EQ (free).
- FourTrack 5 now requires iOS 4.3 or later. iPod touch (2nd generation) and iPhone 3G cannot be updated to iOS 4.3, and will not work with the latest version of FourTrack and GuitarTone because Apple has chosen to not update the operating system on those devices.
